what is rust jacking?

Rust jacking is a condition caused by de-icing chemicals found on the highways. Once it is combined with typical winter moisture, rust begins to build on the brake shoe and as it grows it pushes against the lining resulting in a crack & eventually a complete break.

The fully automatic process provides consistently clean brake shoes in only a fraction of the time from start to finish meaning a better looking and longer lasting product that ECBR can confidently sell to their customers.

ELIMINATE FLASH RUSTING

Flash Rusting occurs when shoes are stored in high-humidity storage facilities. The result is a salt-steel-paint reaction resulting from an inadequately cleaned brake shoe which shortens the shoe shelf life.

HAVE A TRULY CLEAN BRAKE SHOE

Chlorides must be removed to prevent rust jacking. These salts have build up from de-icing salts, fumes & acid rain.

 

PROTECT AGAINST CORROSION

The new system is an automated dip coating that coats our shoes in “twice the thickness” giving each shoe approximately 3 years of corrosion-free life when combined with the expertise and quality workmanship of East Coast Brake Rebuilders.

ECBR's Exclusive Orange Fusionsm

Orange Fusion is a special dipping process where the brake shoes are submerged in our exclusive system. The brake shoe is then sent through a rigorous 4-step drying system where the paint bonds to the shoe for a longer life.

Stage 1

6-minute "Drip Off" time once the shoe is removed from the paint.

Stage 2

10-minutes in a forced dehumidifying chamber removed the water

Stage 3

40-minutes in a heated convection chamber

Stage 4

10-minute "Cool Down" allows for easy handling
